Cottage Svatobor
Stay at the lookout tower:
In the Svatobor mountain hut, we provide 22 beds with the possibility of up to 4 additional extra beds.
The 10 rooms are divided into two floors: two 3-bed rooms and eight 2-bed rooms. 8 rooms have their own balcony with a stunning view of Poledník, Petrovice, Kochánov Nature Park, Hartmanice, Dobrá Voda, and the highest mountain of the Bohemian Forest, the Bavarian Great Arber (Velký Javor).
Since this is a tourist hut, toilets and bathrooms are shared, with one set on each floor. Naturally, staying guests have free access to the lookout tower.
During the winter season (October 1 – May 31), we only accommodate groups of at least 10 or more people for a minimum of 2 nights.
We are sorry, but we do not provide accommodation for pets (dogs, cats, etc.).
Check-in is possible from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Please vacate the rooms by 10:00 AM.

LOOKOUT TOWER:
The lookout tower is located at the summit of Svatobor (845 m above sea level), about an hour's walk from the town of Sušice. The stone lookout tower is 31.6 m high, has 182 wooden steps and offers a beautiful 360-degree view.
The first lookout tower was built on the summit of Svatobor as early as 1894, and the roofing was added in 1896.
Due to poor technical condition, it was demolished in 1934, but in the same year, within 3 months, a new tower was already standing. The project was designed by Sušice architect Karel Houra.
The original shelter was built in 1900 but burned down in 1905. The new hut in Alpine style was then built next to the lookout tower in 1935 (using period materials).
Entrance to the tower is self-service via a turnstile. Payment is possible by card or coins for both individuals and groups.
THE HUT:
The first lookout tower on Svatobor hill was built under the direction of builder Rudolf Mirvald for 3,740 gold coins. Local citizens, friends of the town, tourists, local associations, the municipality, the savings bank, and financial institutions contributed to the construction.
The originator of the idea to build the tower was Vojtěch Maštovský, who even lent money from his own resources during the construction to cover wage payments.
Shortly before the opening on July 11, 1898, a commemorative letter was built into the tower, written in an eloquent style by V. Maštovský.
