From the road leading from Petrovice to Hartmanice, a turnoff in Chlum will take you along a bumpy road to a place that feels like the end of the world: Dolejší Těšov. The road directly divides the Kochánov Nature Park on the right from the Šumava Protected Landscape Area on the left, so you can imagine the beautiful nature you will encounter. The arrival at the village opens with a magnificent building of an old electric mill and a Theresian granary. All this and much more belonged in the past to a small chateau that stands just a few steps away. After the war, the chateau was under the administration of state farms, burned down in the 1950s, was later declared a cultural monument, operated by a private company, and today is in the private hands of one "crazy" married couple. They are preparing a year-round tavern with good coffee and refreshments, which is currently open only during the cultural program "SUMMER AT THE UN-CHATEAU" (LÉTO NA NEZÁMKU). They have been organizing this regularly since 2020 after quickly putting together a stage during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the warm months, they offer definitely original, "punk-style" accommodation with breakfast in the former chateau park. As one of the few places in the area, they are not afraid to offer purely plant-based, gluten-free, or otherwise non-standard refreshments. Occasionally, they host a wedding under their hollow linden tree, but only for those who are not afraid to go a bit against the mainstream of social media. They have big plans and dreams, but everything takes time and money, and that is why they value every wanderer who rests their head here.
